# Privacy Policy for Chat2Search

This Privacy Policy applies to the Chat2Search website ("Site") and to the Chat2Search extension for Microsoft Edge.

Chat2Search is a Microsoft Edge extension operated by Ethoa Ltd. ("Ethoa", "we", "us", or "our").
Ethoa Ltd., Anexartisias 187, Soho office, Limassol, Cyprus.

This policy is about Chat2Search. It is not the Microsoft privacy statement. Chat2Search is not made by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Microsoft or Yahoo. Microsoft and Microsoft Edge are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies. Yahoo and Yahoo Search are trademarks of Yahoo Inc. Chat2Search is not affiliated with Yahoo.

## 1) Scope

This policy explains what information is processed when you:

- browse the Site,
- submit a contact form on the Site, or
- use the Chat2Search extension in Microsoft Edge.

This policy does not replace the privacy policies of Microsoft Edge or Yahoo Search.

## 2) Information we process

### A. Website usage data

When you access the Site, standard web request data may be processed by hosting and network providers (for example: IP address, user agent, time of request, requested path, and referrer where available). Ethoa does not add analytics or advertising cookies through this Site.

### B. Contact form data

If you use the contact form, your browser opens your local mail client (`mailto:`) addressed to contact@ethoa.me. The submitted text is not collected by an Ethoa website backend through this site.

### C. Chat2Search extension

Chat2Search does not collect, log, or transmit search queries to Ethoa. There is no Chat2Search account and no Chat2Search server that receives queries. Search queries are not sent to Ethoa.

Chat2Search does not change your default search engine. When you search, Microsoft Edge opens https://search.yahoo.com/search in a new tab with your query in the p parameter. Yahoo receives that request under Yahoo's own terms and privacy policy.

Selected text is provided by Microsoft Edge's context menu when you choose Open in Yahoo Search. Chat2Search does not inject a script into the page to read it. The side-panel shortcut opens the launcher and does not read or send selected text.

Remember recent searches is off until you turn it on in the side panel or in Settings. If you turn it on, Chat2Search keeps up to 20 queries on this device, in browser session storage, until Microsoft Edge fully restarts. Queries longer than 200 characters are not saved. Searches longer than 500 characters are refused and are not sent. Turning Remember recent searches off deletes the saved queries. You can also clear them from the side panel. Your on/off preference stays in the browser and is not sent to Ethoa.

## 3) How we use information

We use Site and correspondence data to:

- operate, secure, and maintain the Site, and
- respond to inquiries you send to contact@ethoa.me.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use Chat2Search data for advertising, credit, or lending decisions.

## 4) Sharing and third parties

Hosting providers may process Site request logs to serve the website.

When you choose to search, Microsoft Edge opens Yahoo Search and Yahoo processes that query. Ethoa does not receive a copy.

## 5) Your controls

You can:

- leave Remember recent searches off,
- turn it off, which deletes saved queries,
- clear recent searches in the side panel,
- uninstall Chat2Search or clear its extension data in Microsoft Edge, and
- email contact@ethoa.me to ask about Site correspondence.

Recent queries are removed when Microsoft Edge fully restarts, when you turn Remember recent searches off, or when you clear them.

## 6) Data retention

- operational logs are retained according to hosting and security needs,
- correspondence is retained as needed for support and business records,
- recent searches exist only in session storage on your device and are not kept by Ethoa.

## 7) Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Site data, including transport and hosting safeguards appropriate for a public marketing site. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be absolutely secure.

## 8) International processing

Ethoa Ltd. is in Cyprus. Site data may be processed in countries where our hosting providers operate.

## 9) Children's privacy

Chat2Search is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. If you believe a child provided personal information improperly, contact contact@ethoa.me so we can review and delete it where applicable.

## 10) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
